Rocca Scaligera Sirmione castle

Admission to the Scaligera castle is 8 euros which seems rather a lot as there is very little inside the walls apart from the battlements and the tower. Don't get me wrong it's always good to spend an hour or so looking out off the high walls and tower but they give you a very little information or history of the castle itself. Entry can be made on a combined ticket with the Roman villa ruin which is far more interesting and is only a few hundred meters from the town center.
