The island is covered with seaweed, rocky outcrops, scup and Caledonian Pine trees while been located in Loch Torridon. It is funded by the national trust of Scotland. It is believed that the trees were initially planted to serve as a pole for the local fishermen to catch fishes, but even till today some good catches land there. White washed little cottages are scattered all over the village which provide it an identity while the island provides tourist with dining facilities and little shops.
