Everyone who comes to Central Ohio must visit its glorious natural treasure, the Hayden Run Falls. Although this 30-foot waterfall is not in a deep wilderness at all, when you feel the roaring force crashing down, you'll get the impression of being trapped in a real rainforest.
Have in mind that the spectacular fall is only as tall during the spring rainfalls, so if you want to make some great shots of it, better visit it that time, if not, you will only see 5-foot tiny fall.
Getting to Hayden Run Falls is easier than you can imagine, as the park is only 2 acres, reachable from Hayden Run Road.
The trail to the falls is 0.3 miles long, and dogs are allowed on leash. Even if you feel like you have no strength at all or you are not into hiking, this is a perfect trail to start practicing and training. Try this short loop to the falls, and get ready for more extended nature adventures.
Another reason why this trail is suitable for all skills and ages is the elevation gain of only 16 feet that you won't feel at all.
The lush greenery around this short trail will help you rest your eyes from the office screens and the hectic city.
However, hiking enthusiasts and wilderness explorers might find this boardwalk trail boring. But, if you look at it as a quick escape from the city routine, then it will look like a paradise oasis to you. Again, make sure to visit the fall after the rainy season, if not, you'll be disappointed. Kids absolutely love the trail, and even if it's not fun for you, it's fun for them.
Hayden Run Falls is a place that you can't skip if already in the area! Have fun!
