The sacred hot springs 'Air Panas' of Banjar are centuries-old springs set in the middle of the jungle in a beautifully landscaped tropical garden, close to Lovina Beach. Since the time when Japanese colonized Indonesia, this place has been upgraded with modern facilities over time.
It is about 1,5 Km from Banjar or 24 Km from Singaraja Town, and approximately 5 km southwest from the famous Lovina coast in North Bali. To reach the Hot Water location in Banjar, you can use the vehicle through the main road with good condition and passing the Balinese Village with unique cultural life. At the spring’s site entrance, you'll find a ticket office adjacent to the parking lot. Cars and coaches stop here, while motorcycles are permitted further access along the row of shops to a smaller parking space next to a roofed stone gate with a signage that reads:"Permandian Air Panas" - ‘hot water bathing place’.
The souvenir shops that line the route before the stone gate sell various items, from framed art, handicrafts, souvenirs and Bintang shirts to batiks and dyed cloths. The short pathway and bridge after the gate are by a small river, leading you to a further flight of steps. From here, the first smaller pools can easily be seen, where spouts gush onto visitors enjoying the soothing splashes. Further up the steps is a shop selling snacks and refreshments. The hot water springs complex comprises 4 main pool sections, with the largest and central bathing pool featuring a restaurant perched high above the northern side.
Beside the restaurant are restrooms, lockers and changing rooms, and a spa and massage facility. The bathing pools are constructed around the hot water spring source and feature a tiered structure. The first level features 8 dragon spouts with a smaller pool also adjoining this section. The large size of the central bathing pools enables families to join in on the soothing dip. Down on the second level is the main central pool.
The nearest accommodations like hotels or lodging including restaurants are also available at Lovina Beach area. There are many public transportations available to connect to Singaraja. The hot water contains brimstone, that is it believed to be able to heal the skin disease. There is also a hot waterfall, which leaves you feeling refreshed and relaxed. The place it is open daily from 07.00 am till 6.00 pm, except Nyepi Day (Silent Day)
