The Honolulu Botanical Garden is one of the most popular destinations to visit in Hawaii. Opened in 1982, this garden in Kāneʻohe features plantings from major tropical regions around the world. This parks varoius family activities such as Fishing and Painting.
If you are intrested in Fishing be there only Saturdays & Sundays between 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
This catch-and-release program and fun for the whole family. The park provides bamboo poles with barbless hooks but shall bring the bait. You may also bring your own poles with barbless hooks. Fish that commonly seen are tilapia and midas cichlid.

Please remember Hoʻomaluhia is located in a rainforest, so expect a substantial amount of rain especially over winter. Check the forecast before you go, and have a back-up plan.
