Sunrise Trail a stunning desert beauty. It starts with a moderate uphill and then levels out. You can get to this trail from the Lost Dog Wash Trailhead or from the opposite side from 145th Way Trailhead which is in far East Scottsdale. The Lost Dog Wash Trailhead is less steep but longer. Your hike from the trail to Sunrise Peak and back is 2 hours at a moderate pace but you can also go over to Lost Dog which will be 110 miles. Along the way, you can see Camelback, Four Peaks, Weaver's Needle and the Fountain in Fountain Hills. The footing at times can be tricky with loose gravel which isn't bad going up but is difficult on the way down! So make sure you are wearing your favorite boots.
There is a parking spot and if you get there earlyish ( 7 to 9:45 am ) then you can easily find parking spots during the week. During the weekend this place gets packed so come as early as you can! There are Public restrooms available and they are really cleaned! If you got a pup make sure to take them along with you!
