Sweet water Creek State Park is peaceful tract of barren region only minutes from downtown Atlanta.A wooded path follows the circulation to the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a material mill burned in the course of the Civil War. Beyond the mill the path climbs rocky bluffs to provide views of the stunning rapids below. Additional trails wind thru fields and forest, showcasing ferns, magnolias, wild azaleas and hardwoods. Park rangers lead informative hikes to these areas at some stage in the year.
