Without a doubt, one of the must-see attractions at Xcaret is it's Underground Rivers. This natural wonder of blue and refreshing stream run through an amazing spot in Southeast Mexico where you can swim, snorkel and admire the Mayan jungle. The best part about it is that you only need a life vest to experience this mysterious underwater world.
You can see coral formations fossilized on the rock during the trip, proving that this place was part of the sea millions of years ago.
There are three underground rivers in Xcaret to choose from:
the Blue River, the Mayan River, and the Manatee River.
The three of them flow into the sea, next to greenery inhabited by pink flamingos.
The blue river is perfect for those without young children, with swimming ability and good physical condition . This river has a large upstream, in the end, you will find a rope to help you reach the exit so this is not recommended for people who can’t swim.
