Without a doubt, one of the must-see attractions at Xcaret is it's Underground Rivers. This natural wonder of blue and refreshing stream run through an amazing spot in Southeast Mexico where you can swim, snorkel and admire the Mayan jungle. The best part about it is that you only need a life vest to experience this mysterious underwater world.
You can see coral formations fossilized on the rock during the trip, proving that this place was part of the sea millions of years ago.
There are three underground rivers in Xcaret to choose from:
the Blue River, the Mayan River, and the Manatee River.
The three of them flow into the sea, next to greenery inhabited by pink flamingos.
The Mayan River is perfect for those with children looking for an underground river for the most part. This river is the calmest of all, so it’s recommended for seniors and visitors who can’t swim because there is no counterflow.
