The Mykonos windmills are iconic feature of the Greek island of the Mykonos. The island is one of the Cyclades islands, which neighbour Delos in the Aegean Sea. The windmills are the first thing seen as they are located on a hill overlooking the area. Most of them date to the era of the Venetians and were used to mill grain. Since the mid 1900's they have been primarily a tourist attraction. All are whitewashed round structures with pointed roofs and tiny windows. Different to Dutch windmills.
