Parc de Bagatelle was created in 1775, the time of Marie Antoinette. The magnificent rose garden has over 10,000 rose bushes, from 1,200 different species. The park also offers a series of different gardens, in particular, the splendid Water Lily Pond set in woodland.
If you have the energy for a long walk, combine this destination with a trip to the Frank Gehry designed "Louis Vuitton Foundation" contemporary art museum.
The Parc de Bagatelle is open at 9h30 every day and closes 17h00 October. 1 - March 30, and at 20h00 April 1st - September 30th.
The park is free to enter and if there is a concert or event taking place prices are 6 euros for adults and 3 euros for children.
Come spring, the lawns are a riot of color: tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils against a backdrop of magnolias, cherry and peach trees in blossom.
