The garden was laid out in 18th c. as a part of Yusupov's mansion, but was later sold to the state. For the first time, it was opened for the public in the middle of the 19th c. and it's still one of the majestic spots, that locals love so much . Aside from being an excellent place for a picnic in the middle of the city, it's also interesting as one of the cultural heritage.
With a lake in the middle and some trails around it, the park is nice for walking/jogging.
There are several outdoor sculptures. Central Railway Museum faces the park on the left side, and two other Monument to the Soldiers of Oktyabrskaya, & Yusupovskiy Palace on Sadovaya are near to Yusupov Gardens.
